Iranian FM Araghchi meets CDF Munir in Islamabad

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met and held talks with Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir in Islamabad, Press TV reported on Saturday.

The Iranian state-owned media organisation also shared a video of the meeting which was attended by Iranian and Pakistani delegations, including Iran’s spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei and Pakistan’s security czar Mohsin Naqvi.

Araghchi arrived in Islamabad on Friday night for talks with Pakistan’s top leadership on the evolving regional situation and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability.

Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi earlier said Araghchi is leading a delegation during the visit and is scheduled to hold meetings with senior Pakistani leadership to exchange views on regional developments and peace efforts.

He was received on arrival by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Munir, and other senior officials.

The visit comes amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic engagements involving Pakistan and Iran over efforts to support peace and stability in the region.
