ISLAMABAD: China and several other countries have appreciated Pakistan for facilitating the recent two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, acknowledging Islamabad’s constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East at a critical juncture.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has intensified diplomatic outreach, engaging with counterparts and envoys from key regional and global partners to underscore Pakistan’s sustained commitment to dialogue and diplomacy as the cornerstone for lasting peace and stability.
On Wednesday, Ishaq Dar received Jiang Zaidong, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, who conveyed Beijing’s deep appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts in advancing peace and security in the Middle East and Gulf region. Both sides expressed hope that ongoing initiatives would pave the way for a durable peace in the interest of all parties.

In a series of telephonic conversations, Senator Dar also spoke with EU High Representative/Vice President Kaja Kallas, Minister of State of Qatar Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
The DPM consistently highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to promote dialogue and diplomatic engagement, sharing updates on the latest regional developments.
Dar’s counterparts and envoys applauded Pakistan’s constructive role, with Kaja Kallas explicitly acknowledging Islamabad’s contribution
in securing a temporary ceasefire.
She thanked DPM/FM for his efforts and commended Pakistan’s role in helping create space for diplomacy, including for securing the initial ceasefire between the parties. She also expressed the EU’s full support for Pakistan in this endeavor.
Qatar’s Minister of State also conveyed best wishes from PM/FM Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, while other leaders reaffirmed appreciation for Pakistan’s resolve in fostering peace and stability.
In these high-level exchanges, Pakistan has restated its unwavering commitment to diplomacy as the essential path toward regional peace.
