Pakistan Navy hosts Chinese warship for Sea Guardian exercise

The Pakistan Navy on Wednesday welcomed a warship of the People’s Liberation Army Navy for participation in the fourth edition of the bilateral maritime exercise Sea Guardian.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), PLA(N) ship Daqing arrived in Pakistan on March 25 and was given a ceremonial reception.
The visiting vessel was escorted into port by Pakistan Navy ships in a traditional welcome.
The exercise, scheduled from March 25 to April 2, aims to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance operational coordination between the two navies.
It reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and China to maintaining regional peace and maritime security.
Sea Guardian will include both harbour and sea-phase activities. These comprise professional exchanges, subject matter expert engagements, and a seminar for young officers on contemporary maritime issues.
Operational drills such as gunnery exercises, coordinated patrols, and other maritime security operations will also be conducted to improve interoperability.
The ISPR said the exercise series underscores the strong strategic partnership between the two countries and is expected to contribute to a stable maritime environment in the region.
