KARACHI: Pakistan Day was marked with solemnity in Karachi, with visit to the Mazar-e-Quaid by Governor Sindh Muhammad Nehal Hashmi, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah along with his cabinet, and other political and social personalities to pay homage to the Founder of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

On his arrival, the Governor was received by the Chief Minister and his Cabinet. Senior officials, including the Sindh Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Sindh Police and other high-ranking authorities were also present.

The Governor laid a floral wreath at the mausoleum and offered Fateha. He also recorded his impressions in the visitors’ book and prayed for the country’s progress, stability, and prosperity.

Speaking to the media, the Governor emphasised that the foundations laid by the nation’s elders continue to guide Pakistan’s future. He stressed the importance of economic and political stability in the province and the country, and expressed his resolve to take Pakistan to new heights of development by 2040.

Highlighting his political affiliation, Governor Hashmi said that it was a matter of pride to be associated with the legacy of Nawaz Sharif, the Supermo of Pakistan Muslim League-N and reiterated that the focus should remain on strengthening the country rather than fostering political divisions.

Referring to historical significance, the Governor noted that the Sindh Assembly had passed the first resolution in favour of Pakistan and expressed optimism about the province’s continued progress.
