A police vehicle was targeted by an explosion near the Rasul Khel check post in the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the martyrdom of six personnel, including a Station House Officer (SHO), while one other cop was injured, Aaj News reported.

Police said their team was on duty near the check post when the blast occurred. The martyrs have been identified as SHO Saddar Azam, driver Shah Bahram, and three personnel from the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). The injured official, Insaaf-ud-Din, was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Following the incident, law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and launched a large-scale search operation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemns terrorist attack on police vehicle in Lakki Marwat. The premier prayed for the high ranks of the SHO and other police personnel martyred in the terrorist blast and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families. He also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.

“The sacrifices of police personnel and security forces will not be allowed to go in vain,” stated the prime minister.

PM Shehbaz reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the complete eradication of terrorism from the country.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi took immediate notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

Expressing sorrow over the loss of life, the chief minister extended his solidarity to the bereaved families.

He directed health authorities to ensure the best possible medical facilities for the injured official.

“Such cowardly acts cannot lower our morale,” Afridi stated, offering prayers for the elevated ranks of the martyrs.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also condemned the attack and paid tribute to the ultimate sacrifice of the six personnel.

Naqvi remarked that these brave officers sacrificed their life for the nation’s peaceful future.

“The martyrs are our pride, and their sacrifices will be remembered forever,” he added.
