RAWALPINDI: In an urgent message relayed through her sister-in-law from Adiala Jail, Bushra Bibi on Tuesday raised alarm over Imran Khan’s deteriorating health, claiming he is unable to see properly and demanding his immediate medical attention.
Bushra Bibi’s message was shared by Aleema Khan, Imran Khan’s sister. “Imran Khan has sent us a message that he cannot see properly. We have tried to get his personal doctors access to him, but authorities are insisting he is being examined in jail despite serious eye ailment,” she stated.
She said that Khan’s medical records are in the possession of his private doctors, who have been denied permission to see him.
She criticised the government’s handling of Khan’s treatment, claiming that reports about his condition – particularly after an eye injection – are misleading. She described the lack of proper monitoring as tantamount to cruelty.
Aleema questioned the credibility of the medical reports provided by government doctors, particularly from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), which she said failed to even identify the condition being treated.
“This is not how a proper medical evaluation works,” she asserted. “We need to know what is being hidden.”
“Until Khan is transferred to the hospital and given access to his own doctors, we will not trust any of the reports coming from the government,” she added.
