LAHORE: The auction of players for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was held here on Wednesday, in which both local and foreign cricketers were picked for substantial bids amounts.

As many as 880 players were registered for auction. Franchises will be able to complete their squads by buying at least 16 and maximum 21 players. In a 16-member squad, there should be five foreign players.

It may be noted that the 11th edition of the PSL will be played between March 26 and May 3 in five different cities of the country.

As per details, Islamabad United bought Faheem Ashraf for Rs85 million; Karachi Kings bought David Warner for Rs79 million; Quetta Gladiators bought Rilee Rossouw for Rs55 million; Sialkot Stallions bought Jahanzeb Sultan for Rs6 million, while Lahore Qalandars bought Haris Rauf for Rs76 million.

Similarly, Hyderabad Kings bought fast bowler Muhammad Ali for Rs11.5 million; Rawalpindi bought fast bowler Naseem Shah for Rs86.6 million; Karachi Kings bought Azam Khan for Rs32.5 million; Sialkot Stallions bought Sahibzada Farhan for Rs57 million, while Rawalpindi bought Bangladesh’s Irshad Hussain for Rs30 million.

As per details, Quetta Gladiators bought leg spinner Faisal Akram for Rs12.5 million; Peshawar Zalmi bought Amir Jamal for Rs19 million; Quetta Gladiators bought all-rounder Arafat Minhas for Rs11 million, while Lahore Qalandars bought Usama Mir for Rs35 million. Lahore Qalandars bought Fakhar Zaman for Rs79.5 million; the same franchise bought wicketkeeper Haseebullah Khan for Rs10 million. Similarly, Rawalpindi bought Daryl Mitchell for Rs80.5 million, while the same franchise bought Muhammad Amir for Rs54 million; Peshawar Zalmi bought all-rounder Amir Jamal for Rs19 million and wicketkeeper Muhammad Haris for Rs20.2 million.

Quetta Gladiators bought Khawaja Nafay for Rs60 million, while Hyderabad bought Sri Lanka’s Kusal Janith Perera for Rs31 million. However, no franchise bought Imad Waseem, Hussain Talat, Mehdi Hassan, Danish Aziz and Asif Afridi.

PCB Chairman Syed Mohsin Naqvi, PCB Governing Body member Zafarullah Judgal, former captain Zaheer Abbas, Hamza Majeed of Sialkot Stallions, Salman Iqbal of Karachi Kings, Ali Naqvi of Islamabad United, Nadeem Umar of Quetta Gladiators, Lahore Qalandars CEO Atif Rana, Sameen Rana and others attended the event.
