PESHAWAR: The Public Private Partnership (PPP) Committee, chaired by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi, has approved the concession agreement for the Integrated Tourism Zone (ITZ) Thandiani.

This will be the country’s first Integrated Tourism Zone to be developed under a public-private partnership model. Participants were briefed that the project carries a minimum revenue potential of Rs 23 billion, with no cap on projected earnings.

The chief minister directed the authorities concerned to proceed by signing the concession agreement with the concerned private partner, stating that the project aims to transform Thandiani, a renowned hill resort, into an eco-friendly tourism destination through private sector investment.

He added that, in line with the vision of Imran Khan, the provincial government is striving to make tourism a cornerstone of economic stability. Integrated Tourism Zones are flagship initiatives provincial government and must be completed in accordance with environmentally sustainable principles.

To fully harness Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s vast tourism potential, a multi-pronged strategy is being pursued. During the meeting, it was informed that the Integrated Tourism Zone comprises of four zones and three packages, designed to cater to tourists of all age groups.
