PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has said that the Street Movement is not restricted to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa rather is continued across Pakistan, saying the passion, enthusiasm, and love of the people of Swabi for Imran Khan are unparalleled.

He was addressing a rally organized in connections with the ongoing street movement in district Swabi. The movement has been launched under the auspices of PTI in the country.

The rally moved through different areas of the district and concluded at Anbar after passing Aman Chowk and Topi.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers accorded a warm and enthusiastic reception to the Chief Minister at several points along the route.

The CM paid tribute to the people of Swabi for their large turnout and stated that by rejecting negative propaganda, the people of Swabi had proven that they stand like a rock with their leader, Imran Khan.

The CM said that the treatment being meted out to their leader, Imran Khan, is extremely concerning. He added that their objective is big and clear, and their sole goal is the release of their leader. He advised party workers to remain focused on their objective, keep their passion alive, but not allow anyone to exploit this spirit against their cause.

Sohail Afridi said that fear of Imran Khan is present everywhere, and it is under this fear that he has been unjustly imprisoned. However, he asserted, they stand firm like a rock against all tactics and conspiracies of their opponents. He said the Street Movement has deprived opponents of sleep, and on February 8 the public will express its emotions and passion with full force. The CM made it clear that honor and disgrace, life and death, and sustenance lie in the hands of Almighty Allah, therefore there is no need to fear anyone.

Addressing the gathering at Anbar, he said that “today Section 804 is effectively imposed across Swabi from one end to the other, and on February 8 the people will come out against the oppression of mandate thieves.”

He said “the opponents now have only one agenda left: to eliminate Imran Khan and PTI.” He added that despite his unjust imprisonment, Imran Khan remains the only leader who possesses a clear vision for Pakistan’s stability and public welfare.

The CM said that KP has made countless sacrifices for peace, yet terrorism is once again being imposed through decisions taken behind closed doors, which has destroyed peace in the province.

Referring to the security situation, the CM stated that KP has sacrificed thousands of lives for peace, yet decisions taken behind closed doors are once again pushing the province toward instability.

He said the KP is not a testing ground for experiments, nor can the lives of its people be treated as expendable. Referring to drone strikes, he stated that innocent civilians were killed and subsequently labelled as terrorists, raising the question of accountability for these actions.
