ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for National Health Services and Regulations Mustafa Kamal announced on Tuesday that 5,000 doctors have been allocated to digitalised healthcare centres across the country, providing online medical consultations from 9am to 6pm.
Speaking at the inauguration of the fifth Telemedicine Centre at Basic Health Unit (BHU) Bhukkar, on the outskirts of Islamabad, Kamal reaffirmed the government’s commitment to quickly fulfilling its promises to the public and reinforcing the country’s primary healthcare system.
He emphasised that telemedicine offers a key opportunity for female doctors who have paused their practices to reintegrate into the healthcare system and broaden service coverage.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to quickly fulfilling its promises, particularly in improving healthcare access and strengthening the primary healthcare system.
With the country’s growing population putting increasing strain on hospitals, he argued that the most effective and sustainable solution lies in leveraging modern healthcare technologies, especially telemedicine.
In today’s digital age, he added, physical consultations are unnecessary for basic healthcare, with telemedicine offering an efficient system for timely diagnosis and treatment.
