KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has requested the Chief Justice of the High Court of Sindh to form a judicial commission for a thorough investigation into the fire incident of Gul Plaza Shopping Mall and fixation of responsibility for negligence, mismanagement and irregularities leading to this tragedy.
During his visit to the home of Muhammad Aftab, who was martyred in Gul Plaza fire, he announced to bear all the educational expenses of Shaheed’s children. He expressed condolences and sympathy to his mother, children and family.
He also announced to take the responsibility for a plot to each family of the martyrs, along with their household expenses. “We will not leave the families of the martyrs alone.”
He regretted that seven days had passed yet the grieved families were waiting for the bodies of martyrs. “Relatives of the deceased have been made rolling stones for DNA test and death certificates.”
The Governor demanded that the culprits must be held accountable and punished as there was a huge loss of ninety lives in the Gul Plaza tragedy. He advised that those who raised their voices for justice to the aggrieved families and the affected shopkeepers should not be targeted by politics.
