PESHAWAR: The KP government announced the successful completion of a dynamic investors’ roadshow for the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Bannu Link Road Project, which aims to connect the Indus Highway (N-55) with Hakla D I Khan Motorway (M-14).

The event drew enthusiastic participation from leading construction firms, financial institutions, and private equity investors.

The roadshow, held at Islamabad, showcased the project’s detailed scope, financial arrangements, risk-sharing framework, and implementation timelines. The event provided a platform for stakeholders to engage with government officials and explore opportunities for collaboration.

“The Bannu Link Road Project is a testament to our commitment to improving regional connectivity and promoting economic growth in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” said Adeel Shah, Secretary, P&D Department.

The participants included Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Tier-1 contractors, senior bankers from national lenders, and investment fund managers, all expressing keen interest in participating in the project.

The government’s transparent approach and commitment to de-risking the project through viability gap funding and land acquisition support were highlighted as key factors in generating investor interest.

“We are excited to partner with the private sector to deliver this critical infrastructure project, which will have a transformative impact on the lives of our people,” Secretary, P&D Department added.

Speaking on the occasion, the secretary Communication and Works Department stated, “This roadshow was a resounding success. The response from the private sector validates our vision. This PPP Project is not only a fast-tracked critical infrastructure initiative but will also attract long-term, sustainable investment into our province,” he maintained.

Investors praised the government’s clarity in documentation and commitment to supporting the project’s development. Several firms have already signaled their intent to participate in the upcoming bidding process.

“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s successful PPP portfolio, including the landmark Swat Expressway Phase I and Phase II projects, demonstrates our ability to attract private sector investment and deliver development goals,” said Shahzad Mehboob, Chief Public Private Partnership Unit, P&D Department.

The Bannu Link Road Project is expected to significantly enhance regional connectivity, reduce travel time, and stimulate economic growth in the area. The project’s successful implementation is anticipated to set a precedent for future PPP initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
