ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has supported dialogue with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying the government is open to resolve all kinds of issues through dialogue.

“Dialogue is the only solution to disputed matters,” he said, speaking to the media on Thursday.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has always supported dialogue and that the federal government is ready for talks, he said.

The dialogue committee, he said, needs to get its mandate from the PTI.

The minister said the government aims to improve the governance model through performance evaluations of all ministries.

The purpose of this initiative is to strengthen the system of self-accountability and to ensure that ministers remain answerable for their responsibilities.

The minister noted that improved performance was visible in addressing challenges related to investment, power sector, maritime affairs, mines and minerals, foreign affairs, and climate change.

He stressed that it was essential to keep the nation informed about the steps being taken by the government.

He said the PM directed all ministers to inform the public about the targets set by their respective ministries over the past year and the progress achieved.

Chaudhry added that the ministry of parliamentary affairs played a key role in promoting the democratic process, political stability, and transparency in the country through effective political and public representation.

The minister said noticeable improvement and development were being witnessed across various ministries and that the national economy was moving towards stability and growth.

He said the objective of this report was to strengthen self-accountability within ministries and to ensure ministers’ responsibility, while clear indicators of investment and development were emerging in the country.
