ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has approved the appointment of Additional Secretary (Administration) Saeed Ahmad Maitla as Acting Secretary of the National Assembly.
The National Assembly Secretariat on Thursday issued a formal notification regarding his appointment. Saeed Ahmed Maitla has assumed charge and started performing his duties as Acting Secretary of the National Assembly.
The appointment was made following the completion of tenure and subsequent retirement of Tahir Hussain, the former Secretary General of the National Assembly.
Saeed Ahmed Maitla is the most senior officer of the National Assembly Secretariat and had previously been performing duties as Additional Secretary (Administration) as well as Principal Secretary to the Speaker.
