KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Food, Makhdoom Mehboob-uz-Zaman, has announced that after the successful implementation of the e-challan system in the traffic sector, the Sindh Government has now decided to introduce the same digital enforcement mechanism in the Sindh Food Authority.

He made this announcement during a meeting with the Pakistan Peoples Party Women Wing President, Faryal Talpur.

During the meeting, the Minister provided Faryal Talpur with a detailed briefing on the ongoing digital transformation initiatives within the Sindh Food Authority. The authority is set to launch a modern online registration system, a comprehensive complaint management system, and an advanced digital challaning system.

These initiatives are aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and service delivery. He further stated that through these digital reforms, the Sindh Food Authority will provide citizens with improved, transparent, and accessible services.

The new systems will significantly streamline complaint lodging, monitoring, and redressal, while the digital challan system will enhance transparency and accountability in field operations.

The Minister also apprised her of the recent actions taken by the Sindh Food Authority against substandard and unsafe food across the province.

He noted that strict enforcement measures have been intensified to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

Additionally, the Minister presented a detailed briefing on the department’s wheat & Stock Policy, aimed at improving transparency in the supply chain, enhancing livestock management, and ensuring the availability of safe and hygienic food for the public.

Faryal Talpur appreciated the efforts of the department and stated that the Sindh Government is moving towards a more modern, efficient, and transparent governance model, prioritizing the health and safety of the people.
