LAHORE: Judicial Activism Panel (JAP) has approached the Lahore High Court against the Punjab Regulation of Kite Flying Ordinance 2025, which allowed celebration of Basant festival.
The petitioner through his counsel stated that the government issued the ordinance despite the assembly being in session.
He said that kite flying has caused numerous deaths in the past in different cities of the province and even the Supreme Court has previously ruled against the activity.
The petition fears that allowing kite flying again may lead to further loss of life.He asked the court to declare the ordinance along with the notification permitting kite flying null and void.
