Economy enters phase of clear and steady recovery: Danyal
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s economy has entered a phase of clear and steady recovery, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Danyal Chaudhry said on Tuesday, crediting the business community as the driving force behind the turnaround.
Speaking at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Barrister Danyal said the country’s economic trajectory has shifted from crisis management to sustainable growth, with stabilization measures now yielding visible results.
The event was presided over by Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi as Chief Guest.
Reflecting on the challenges the government inherited, Barrister Danyal noted that Pakistan had been confronted with severe economic strain. “When we assumed office, Pakistan was facing severe economic challenges. Today, after a focused period of stabilization, we are not just walking; we are building the momentum to run,” he said.
He acknowledged that some tough fiscal decisions had been unavoidable due to previous international commitments but emphasised that these policies are now being implemented by a capable team focused on long-term economic health rather than short-term relief. As recovery accelerates, he projected a more business-friendly environment with reduced fiscal pressures.
Barrister Danyal also pointed to the revival of Pakistan Railways under Minister Hanif Abbasi as a strong example of institutional improvement and broader economic renewal.
Praising the RCCI, he described it as the “cornerstone of regional commerce” and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustained collaboration. “The nation’s prosperity is inextricably linked to your success. Our goal is a Pakistan that stands firmly on its own feet, thriving through public-private partnership,” he concluded.
