‘Migration after 1947 impacted millions of people in India, Pakistan’
KARACHI: The renowned researcher and author Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed has said that the massive migration after 1947 was a great tragedy in world history and it had an impact on millions of the people living in Pakistan and in India.
Dr Ahmed known for his in depth works on Jinnah, Punjab and the Pakistani state, shared valuable insights on the country’s past and present realities.
The Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) organised a thought-provoking discussion at the Karachi Press Club. The event, presided over by KUJ President Tahir Hasan Khan, explored the partition of the Indian Subcontinent and its impact on Pakistan’s history and politics.
The discussion shed light on the challenges that have hindered Pakistan’s progress and the need for deeper understanding of its history.
The KUJ’s initiative aims to promote awareness and understanding of Pakistan’s past, politics, and media landscape, contributing to the country’s ongoing development.
Dr Ishtiaq — an expert and researcher on Palestine, genocide studies, and political affairs. The event featured an in-depth discussion on his books and research topics.
Senior journalist and analyst Dr Tauseef Ahmed Khan spoke in detail about the information and astonishing facts presented in Dr Ishtiaq’s books.
