LAHORE: The “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people” was marked on Saturday with a renewed pledge to continue raising voice for the right of self-determination to the Palestinian people.
Every year on this day, the international community stands in solidarity for the dignity, rights, justice and self-determination of the Palestinian people.
On this day, Pakistan reaffirmed its unwavering support for the inalienable right to self-determination of Palestinian people and establishment of an independent State of Palestine with Al Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif said in her message said that the government and people of Pakistan stand by their Palestinian brethren with firm resolve and solidarity.
She added that Palestinian people have been struggling for their right to self-determination for decades. She highlighted that the courage and unwavering spirit of Palestinians have written a new chapter in history.
The Chief Minister appreciated the courage, bravery and determination of Palestinian people.
She said that Pakistan will continue to provide diplomatic, moral and political support to the right of self-determination of Palestinian people. She added that today and forever, we express solidarity with Palestinian people. She underscored that Pakistan has played a positive and constructive role in the recent peace agreement.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that Palestinian citizens do not even have access to basic human rights such as food, medicine, clean water, housing and security. She added that international community should fulfil its responsibilities according to international law.
