The Chief Minister Punjab in her message on ‘World Sustainable Transport Day’ stated that transportation is essential for connectivity, trade, and economic growth and employment opportunities. “Transport plays a vital role in boosting economy, commerce and social linkages,” she said, adding: “For the first time in Punjab’s history, a sustainable and accessible electric bus project has been launched.”

She revealed that work is also progressing rapidly on the Lahore–Islamabad bullet train framework. She disclosed that a glass train is being introduced from Rawalpindi to Murree to facilitate tourists.

The Chief Minister said that more than 20,000 kilometres of roads have been constructed and repaired across Punjab. She emphasized that sustainable transport can effectively address developmental and trade challenges.
