ISLAMABAD: Fauzia Viqar, the Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH), on Wednesday emphasised the need for creating safe, respectful, and inclusive work environments for women.
She made the remarks during an awareness seminar on the Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010, which was jointly organised by Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) and FOSPAH.
The session was attended by ZTBL employees, including senior management and staff from branches across the country. Participation was facilitated both in-person and virtually via Zoom, ensuring broad involvement from across the bank's network.
Tahir Yaqoob Bhatti, President and CEO of ZTBL, also addressed the participants, reiterating the bank’s commitment to upholding workplace dignity and its zero-tolerance policy on harassment.
The seminar featured comprehensive briefings on the Workplace Act, 2010 by Waqar Ahmed, Assistant Registrar at FOSPAH, who was the principal speaker, and Momina Asif, Communications Officer at FOSPAH.They discussed the legal framework, reporting mechanisms, and the institutional responsibilities outlined in the Act.
In closing, ZTBL reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe and equitable workplace for all its employees. The event concluded with the exchange of souvenirs between representatives of the two organizations.
