ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired an inter-ministerial meeting to review progress on the government’s privatisation agenda.
A statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the committee was briefed on ongoing steps and processes related to the privatisation of major public sector entities, including PIA.
The DPM/FM directed the Ministry of Privatisation and the Privatisation Commission to fast-track the privatisation process, and instructed relevant ministries to extend full support. The objective is to place these entities on a sustainable and profitable trajectory. The meeting was attended by the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Privatisation, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, NC SIFC, Secretary Privatisation, and officials from concerned ministries.
