LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will attend the COP30 Conference on Environment in Brazil from November 10 to 21, where she will present the Punjab government’s vision of “Waste to Value, Vision to Global Action” developed over the past 19 months.

Accompanied by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique, and Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat, the Chief Minister will highlight Punjab’s environmental reforms, including measures to eliminate smog, improve air quality, and make all sectors eco-friendly for the first time in the province’s history.

She will outline Punjab’s electric vehicle–based transport transition, the plan to introduce electric buses in 42 cities, and the Clean and Green Punjab initiatives. She will also discuss the T30 vision for an environmentally friendly Punjab, including proposals to run 120,000 electric motorcycles and rickshaws, introduce 1,100 electric taxis, and launch an advanced digital rail system.
