RAW terrorist group arrested in Karachi, says CTD AIG
- Four people taken into custody for target killing in Badin, says Azad Khan
A group of suspects belonging to Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), Indian intelligence agency, has been arrested in Karachi during a joint operation by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Sindh, and federal security agencies.
Addressing a news conference in Karachi on Saturday, Additional Inspector General CTD Sindh Azad Khan said that four people were taken into custody on July 8 in connection with the May 18 target killing of a 45-year-old man in Badin.
The existence of the RAW-linked network was discovered during interrogation.
During the murder investigation, Azad said, closed-circuit camera footage was found which showed the three suspects, who were subsequently recognised by eyewitnesses.

Two of the suspects were arrested and the pistol for killing the man was recovered from their possession, he said.
The CTD AIG said it came to light during investigation the murder was orchestrated by an Indian agent named Sanjay Sanjeev Kumar, also known as “Fauji”, who lives in a Gulf state.
The mastermind of the murder RAW agent recruited two Pakistani citizens, Salman and Arsalan, who were working in a Gulf state, he said.
Azad said Salman formed a group of target killers that included Shakeel, Obaid, Sajjad, and Umair.
RAW financed the terrorists and target killers by sending money through bank remittances, he said, adding Sanjay oversaw the operation from abroad.

The AIG said evidence of RAW’s involvement in bombings and terrorist attacks in Karachi and other cities have also surfaced.
“RAW provided financial and logistical support for the terrorist network. In Karachi, a RAW terrorist safe house was set up, while target killings and terrorist attacks were planned from overseas,” he maintained.
A bomb, 9mm pistols, 30-bore pistols, and 125 mortar shells were recovered from the suspects, who had confessed to working with the RAW. They admitted to planning terrorist attacks in Karachi and receiving funding from RAW, he said.
