LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, has strongly condemned the events of May 9, calling them a well-orchestrated but failed rebellion against the state.
She stated that all evidence related to the conspiracy is now in public view, and those involved can no longer hide behind political facades.
"Under the guise of politics, state institutions were attacked, and the statues of martyrs were desecrated. What kind of service to the nation is this?" questioned Bokhari. "The shame brought to Pakistan on the global stage by the May 9 attacks is undeniable," she said.
Azma asserted that attempts to disguise treason as political victimhood would no longer be accepted. “The nation is united in its demand for strict and complete accountability of all masterminds and facilitators behind the May 9 events,” she added.
Drawing a powerful analogy, the minister remarked, “Even Pharaoh and Satan had massive followings — but that never made them angels.” She added that all movements and tactics by the May 9 culprits have failed, and now it is time for them to face the consequences of their actions.
Azma Bokhari concluded by reaffirming that both the government and state institutions remain resolute in defeating every conspiracy against the country, and all those involved will be brought to justice under the law.
