LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed authorities concerned, to depute rescue teams in the affected areas immediately to cope up with the flood situation.
She has directed the administration and other relevant departments to carry out advance arrangements in the districts of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sargodha, Gujrat and Gujranwala in view of possible heavy rains. She has directed the commissioners and deputy commissioners to remain alert to deal with any untoward situation.
The Chief Minister asserted that implementation of the advance alerts, SOPs and instructions to be given by PDMA should be ensured under any circumstance. She directed announcements in the mosques by loudspeakers for timely evacuation of the flood affected population.
She further directed to set up Clinics on Wheels and Field Hospitals for the provision of timely medical treatment and care to the flood victims.
The CM directed to provide vaccination and medical treatment facilities for livestock in the flood affected areas and further directed to give prior information to the residents of the affected areas by sending SMS messages. She directed PDMA, administration and other relevant departments to make special arrangements in the affected areas adjacent to the rivers of Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej.
The Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed the rescue teams, administration, police and other relevant departments to take necessary measures in the areas adjacent to the Sutlej River. She directed to ensure immediate evacuation of the population dwelling adjacent to the river. She further directed to undertake pre-emptive measures for the timely relocation of livestock from the flood affected areas. On the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, agriculture, irrigation, health, forests, livestock, local government and transport departments have been put on high alert to deal with any emergency situation.
