National consultation on gender based legislation

imalllISLAMABAD: Aurat Foundation's Legislative Watch Programme for Women's Empowerment will hold a national consultation on gender based legislation and issues of implementation on December 28.

Three sessions will be arranged including `Gender based legislation and issues of implementation- legal perspective', `Gender based laws- thorny route of implementation and the implementers and `Gender based legislation and issues of implementation- civil society role'.

Member Senate, Nilofar Bakhtiar, Member Provincial Assembly, KP and Member Standing Committee on Law Reforms and Control on Subordinate Legislation Saqib Ullah Chamkani and Assistant Inspector General (Operations), Sultan Azam Taimuri.

The panelists include Justice (Retd) Shaiq Usmani, Humaira Masihuddin, Advocate High Court, Helena Saeed, DIG Police, Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman, DIG Police, Malakand, Muhammad Salim Khattak, AD / Training-I, National Police Academy, Valarie Khan, Chairperson, Acid Survivor Foundation, Farzana Ali, Member Provincial Commission on the Status of Women, Samar Minalah, Executive Director ETHNOMEDIA, senior journalist Nasim Zehra and Asma Shirazi.
