First Carrefour supermarket opened in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Majid Al Futtaim, owner and operator of Carrefour in Pakistan, has further increased its investment in Pakistan’s retail sector to Rs 12 billion with the inauguration of its eleventh Carrefour store in the country.

The store, which opened its doors to customers in the prime vicinity of D-12 Markaz in Islamabad, will offer more than 7,000 products for the residents of the capital city.

Majid Al Futtaim remains at the forefront of driving shopping innovations with the introduction of their cutting-edge Smart Cart facility, ensuring a seamless and technologically advanced shopping experience for its customers.

The facility allows customers to effortlessly locate and scan desired products using a smart tablet mounted on the trolley.

I joined majid alfuthaim in 1994 in Dubai our section was MAF HEALTH & BEAUITY ,CITY CENTER was the ist shoping center the MAF started in Duai our head office was located on Riga Street in Dubai..now I am leaving in F11 islamabad its my pleasure to have my X company MAF in my city..wishing success for Carefour Good luck

If D12 is Islamabad, then its not the first branch here . You already have one in giga mall Islamabad. Main Islamabad have ZERO branches.

With all due respect they have just opened a grocery store, which is a disappointment keeping in mind they opened up in the capital. People who haven't seen carrefour in the ME, might like what they see in Islamabad, but for those who grew up in the ME, know carrefour in Islamabad is nothing like real one! The one in Giga Mall doesn't come under Islamabad and doesn't count as one either. So guys UP your game please.

During my stay in Alkhobar city KSA for 25 years till 2022, we were a regular visitor of carefour. Opening of this chain in Islamabad is good but the location will be very for the residents of Rawalpindi. Like in KSA alkhobar and Dammam are only approximately 25 KMS yet there are branches in these twin cities. So it is suggested to the owner to open yet another branch in Rawalpindi as well. I visited Giga Mall's branch but was not impressed by the items and terms of services as compared to the branches in KSA.

@Ramlah Seraj, Giga Mall is in DHA 2, and DHA 2 is in Islamabad. Face the reality y'all old Islamabadis: GT Road stretch from DHA 1 till T-Chowk is the new Islamabad and the cleaner version of Islamabad, an area where its at right now!
