KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), which is going to commence direct flight operations to Sydney by April 22, will also provide connectivity to eight more destinations within Australia through an interline arrangement with Virgin Australia (VA).

According to sources, the PIA has planned direct flight operations to Sydney from Pakistan commencing from 22nd April.

The flights will initially be operated from Lahore to Sydney on Fridays and Sydney to Lahore on Sundays.

In order to further provide travel access to PIA passengers the airline has also entered into an interline arrangement with Virgin Australia for destinations beyond Sydney.

With PIA direct flights to Sydney, eight more destinations in Australia have also been made easily accessible for PIA passengers.

The interline arrangement provides passengers with greater options and allows PIA to sell seats beyond Sydney connecting to eight destinations on VA network that include, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Ballina Byron, Hobart, Cairns and Perth. CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik expressed his satisfaction on the expansion of network and has directed the marketing and frontline teams to provide best services to the passengers.
