FAISALABAD: The Director General TDAP, Punjab has said that PTTF Lab is a flagship project of EDF which has proved great significance in enhancing quality exports. TDAP is making concerted efforts to bolster trade and economic activities and promote business interests of the country.

Addressing a meeting at Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) here on Tuesday, he appreciated the progress made by the PTTF Lab in the field of textile testing and termed it as a success story of EDF projects. He extended full support for in time completion of new EDF funded project of up-gradation & replacement of physical testing equipment at PTTF Lab. Briefing the new TORs for EDF funded projects, he advised PTTF to hire the services of consultant to ensure transparency and accuracy though out the project. He informed that under the TORs devised by the EDF, TDAP’s role is restricted to monitoring only; whereas the beneficiary is now responsible to take decisions in respect of procurement and payments. The consultant will provide technical support and ensure transparency in the project. He directed his team to facilitate PTTF in successful completion of this project.

Earlier, the Chairman PTEA welcomed the Director General TDAP and his entire team and briefly enlightens the core objectives of the Association. Briefing about the PTTF Lab, he explained that PTTF Lab is a state of the art textile testing laboratory providing high standards of textile testing facilities to textile manufacturers and exporters. The Lab was established in 2005 with financial assistance from Export Development Fund and is equipped with latest and state of the art equipment from SDL/ATLAS UK & USA and providing testing facilities to all textile manufacturers and exporters. The lab is accredited under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Standard by Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC), Islamabad. This environmentally controlled laboratory, impeccable services, quick lead times, and competitive pricing all combined to provide its customers with exceptional value for their textile testing needs. It is working with world’s largest multinational corporations and best-known brands to improve the social, ethical and environmental consequences of their products, services and supply chains.

It is providing Physical and mechanical, Chemical, Materials and Performance testing facilities. Now, in order to expand its testing scope in accordance with International Standards & Regulations, PTTF lab has recently been upgraded with financial assistance from Export Development Fund and an ECO section has been established for ECO testing.

Later, PTEA insignia was presented to the Director General TDAP. Vice Chairman PTEA Ameer Ahmad, Director TDAP Faisalabad Allah Dad Tarar and other TDAP officials from Faisalabad and Lahore were also present in the meeting.
