ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to allow duty drawback facility to exporters to Afghanistan and through Afghanistan to the Central Asian Republics.

The FBR has issued SRO1434(I)/2021 to amend the Customs Rules 2001, here on Monday.

Presently, the exporter includes a person who exports goods to any country including Export Processing Zones in Pakistan and files duty drawback claims, except for export to Afghanistan and through Afghanistan to the Central Asian Republics.

The proposed amendment would be applicable retrospectively from March 7, 2002.

Export of poultry products: Duty drawback facility allowed

As per existing rules, the “duty drawback” means a claim of refund of import duty, excise duty.

According to the SRO1434(I)/2021 issued on Monday, the following draft of certain further amendments in the Customs Rules, 2001, which the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by section 219 of the Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969), is hereby published for information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and, as required under sub-section (3A) of section 219 of the Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969), notice is hereby given that objections or suggestions thereon, if any, may for consideration of the Board be sent within15 days of publication of the draft amendments in the official Gazette.
