BRUSSELS: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen vowed on Friday to firmly defend the primacy of EU law after Poland's highest court ruled that EU treaties are incompatible with its national constitution.
Calling the European Union "a community of values and laws", von der Leyen said the EU "will uphold the founding principles of our Union's legal order. Our 450 million Europeans rely on this," a statement said.
