LAHORE: The task force on anti-power theft, Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) Operation and Surveillance, has registered around 300 FIRs over power theft in the month of October.

Chief Executive Officer LESCO Mujahid Pervaiz Chatta said the highest number of FIRs in a day during the month of October even reached 87 on 13th of October, which suggests how actively LESCO is pursuing those involved in power theft. He said special teams have been formed to conduct raids against those involved in power theft.

On Thursday, he said the LESCO carried out operation against the culprits and got registered seven FIRs. According to him, majority of meters were found having direct supply, followed by display of wash, dead stop meters, open displays, and tempered meters.

He said the Company has recovered millions of rupees under the head of arrears from all those involved in power theft. He further added that operations would continue ahead as well to minimize the level of power theft in the region.
