LAHORE: The Cane Commissioner Punjab has warned the sugar mills that they will be bound to pay 11 percent mark-up on payments to growers if delayed over 15 days. Issuing directives to the sugar mills here on Thursday for paying mark-up on delay in payment, Cane Commissioner Punjab Zaman Wattoo claimed that it would help ending the exploitation of growers by ensuring timely payment.
The Cane commissioner issued these directives while giving a decision on applications of payment of mark-up on delayed payments to growers. He said such a decision would encourage the growers and will lead to increasing in the production of different crops.
