ATC allows bail to PML-N MPA

Published November 13, 2020 Updated November 13, 2020 03:25am

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court here on Thursday allowed bail to PML-N MPA Khawaja Imran Nazir in a case of attacking police outside the National Accountability Bureau Office Lahore.

Earlier, his counsel contended before the court that Khawaja was not involved in any activity mentioned in the FIR. He said Khawaja had gone there for expressing solidarity with PML-N Vice President Marayam Nawaz who had come there in an inquiry. He therefore prayed the court to allow bail to his client.

The court inclining with the arguments of the counsel allowed bail and directed the jail authorities to release him against surety bond of rupees 0.5 million. The court on last hearing had sent Khawaja Nazir jail on judicial remand.
