Sindh reports over 950 new COVID-19 cases, highest figure since July

Sindh reports a major spike in COVID-19 cases on Thursday as 950 new cases emerged in the provinces, the highest figure since July this year.

Giving daily coronavirus (COVID-19) cases update, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said, “We reported 979 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the province during the last 24 hours after performing 12,599 tests.”

As many as 314 people have recovered from coronavirus in the aforementioned period.

Out of the 979 cases, 789 infections are from Karachi, said Murad Ali Shah.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 36,686 tests were conducted across the country, taking the total number of tests conducted to 4,810,182. Currently, there are 22,088 active cases in the country.

The death toll increased to 7,055 after the country reported 34 more deaths. The country reported the highest-single day number of deaths since July. 1,164 patients are in critical condition.

784 more people have also recovered from the novel virus, taking the nationwide tally to 320,849.
