ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has claimed to have arrested two accused in Reko Diq reference on Thursday. An official said that the NAB Rawalpindi team under the supervision of Director Shoaib Ahmed has arrested two accused namely, Sher Khan and Muhammad Farooq, from Islamabad.
Both the accused will be handed over to the NAB Balochistan on transit remand, he said. He said that the arrest was made after Chairman NAB, former Justice Javed Iqbal issued arrest warrants for the suspects.
The NAB has also filed a corruption reference/financial irregularities in the Reko Diq project in the Accountability Court of Balochistan. According to the NAB's spokesperson, the bureau unearthed important evidence against the people involved in the scam. The reference had been registered against 26 accused including former officials of the Balochistan government.
