Chief of Naval Staff calls on COAS Bajwa
- COAS Bajwa hoped that Pakistan Navy will achieve new heights under the admiral's able command.
The newly appointed Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa (COAS) on Saturday.
On his arrival, the naval chief laid floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered fateha for martyrs of Pakistan. The COAS congratulated him on assuming the office of Chief of the Naval Staff. COAS Bajwa hoped that Pakistan Navy will achieve new heights under the admiral's able command.
Admiral Niazi assumed charge on October 7 a day after Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi retired.
Admiral Niazi is a graduate of Army Command & Staff College Quetta and National Defence University Islamabad. He also holds a Master Degree in Underwater Acoustics from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China. The admiral has been awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara e Basalat. He was also conferred the French Medal Chevalier (Knight) by the Government of France.
