KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate (Preventive) on Thursday claimed to have confiscated substantial quantity of smuggled fabric worth in millions. According to details, the MCC (Preventive) has received a tip-off, which revealed that huge quantity of foreign origin smuggled fabric were stored in a warehouse located in North Karachi Industrial Area for further transportation to the markets. Reacting on this information, a team has been given a task to raid at the aforesaid warehouse and take all foreign origin smuggled fabric into custody.
As a result, the team has raided at the said place and recovered 80000 kilograms of foreign origin smuggled fabric worth Rs 15 million. Consequent upon recovery, all smuggled goods have been seized and a case has been registered. Raids are being conducted to nab the responsible persons however no arrest was made till filing of this report.
