Man behind treason case FIR against Nawaz Sharif has a criminal record

Rasheed is nominated in criminal cases including an attempt to murder, weapon possession, and interference in state matters.

Babar Rasheed, the man, who filed the treason case against Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Nawaz Sharif, is himself booked in several charges including an attempt of murder, the police said on Tuesday.

As per details, Rasheed is nominated in criminal cases including an attempt to murder, weapon possession, and interference in state matters. Interestingly, the attempted murder case has been registered in the Shahdra Police Station, the same police station where the sedition case was registered.

Other two case of illegal weapons and interference in government matters were registers in the Sharqpur police station and the Old Anarkali Police Station respectively.

The police also confirmed that Rasheed has also been arrested in some cases.

Meanwhile, pictures of Rasheed along with Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar also emerged on Tuesday.

As per Geo News, Rasheed was the president of PTI’s youth wing in Ravi Town.

On Monday, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and other Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders were booked on treason charges.

The Shahdara police registered the FIR under the sedition laws against Nawaz Sharif on the complaint of a citizen, Badar Rasheed, son of Rasheed Khan, a resident of Mohallah Khurshid Park, Shahdara, under sections 120, 120B, 121, 121A, 123A, 124, 124A, 153, 153A and 505 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Section 10 of Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016.

The FIR was registered against the PML-N leader for making provocative speeches in London against Pakistan's high courts and armed forces in front of the international community.
