Conduct of Business Rules: Senate body discusses proposed amendments
ISLAMABAD: The Senate Committee on Monday discussed the proposed amendments in detail, and decided to examine international best practices with regard to the powers for enforcing attendance of any person. The committee met with Senator Farooq H Naek in the chair at the Parliament House.
The committee discussed the existing rules of the Rules of Procedures and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 2012, and practice pertaining to the power of the Senate committees for enforcing attendance of any person.
The members of the committee gave recommendations, while emphasising the need to strengthen the committee system vis-a-vis attendance of officials. Senators Muhammad Ali Khan Saif, Mustafa Nawaz Khokar, and others participated in the meeting.
