LAHORE: As many as, 103 players and player support personnel belonging to six cricket association first-XI squad for the National T-20 Cup were invited to their respective central stations on Thursday after they tested negative in their first Covid-19 tests.

The players will undergo their IInd tests on 18th September under the supervision of the PCB medical team at the central stations, which are Multan's Hotel Ramada for Central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern and Southern Punjab, and Lahore Muridke Country Club for Balochistan and Sindh. Over the course of their stay, the squad members will be provided individual accommodation.

One individual tested positive for Covid-19. He has been advised self-isolation for five days at his residence following which he will undergo another test. If that test returns negative, he would be invited to a central station for his second test. Cricketers who travelled to England with the men's national cricket team are required to submit the results of their first Covid-19 tests on 22nd September to the PCB Medical and Sports Sciences Department.

Moreover, the Pakistan Cricket Board began its search for strength and conditioning coach for the women's national cricket team.

The interested candidates need to have at least a bachelor's degree in sports sciences or physical education/sports and exercise technology along with a minimum of three years working experience at reputed sports organisations or international cricket teams. The strength and conditioning coach will be working closely with the National High Performance Centre to coordinate the delivery of strength and conditioning services and ensure individualised training programmes for the players are developed, implemented and monitored.

Further, former Lahore High Court Judge Justice Fazal-e-Miran Chauhan (retd), in his capacity as an independent adjudicator, will hear Saleem Malik's appeal on 30th September at the National High Performance Centre in Lahore.
