After the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announcement of the lifting of certain categories of travel restrictions from September 15, the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to increase its flights from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia from 23 per week to 51 flights per week from September 30.

As per details, the spokesperson of the national flag carrier, Abdullah Khan sharing details said additional flights will operate to and from different destinations including Jeddah, Medina, Riyadh, and Dammam.

Just days ago, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced the lifting of travel restrictions from January 1, while those in certain categories will be allowed to travel from September 15, as the coronavirus pandemic weaken.

According to the KSA news agency, the Saudi Interior Ministry has said that airports, ports and border checkpoints will be opened from January 1, 2021, while the action plan for Umrah will be decided later.

Meanwhile, PIA spokesperson added that passengers planning to visit Saudi Arabia will, however, have to necessarily present their corona (negative) test certificate, conducted 48 hours prior to their departure time.

It is to be noted that amid a drop in passengers, PIA has made a drastic reduction in domestic airfares in the last few weeks.
