'Discriminatory' laws: Punjab government to bring amendments

LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to bring amendments to a number of laws which are discriminatory with regards to the right of women and children.The announcement was made by Provincial Minister for Women Development Ashifa Riaz Fatyana while addressing to participants during a webinar here on Tuesday.

The webinar was held to review several federal and provincial laws which are discriminatory with regards to the right of women and children. "In coordination of the UN Women, the Punjab Women Development Department (WDD) recently held a comprehensive review of the recent "GAP analysis" which pointed out gaps in pro-women and children legislation at federal and provincial levels.
