High sulphur content: Punjab PSMA urges government to restrict sugar import
LAHORE: The Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA-Punjab) expressed its concern over the alleged import of sugar having high sulphur content and appealed the government to take measures to restrict any such import. The PSMA Punjab spokesman in a statement issued on Thursday alleged that some Pakistani importers are planning to import sugar-containing high Sulphur content which is injurious to health.
It is suspected that some importers in connivance with Indian sugar traders are trying to dump high sulphur content sugar in Pakistan, which is injurious to health, the spokesman added.
