KARACHI: Pak Sarzameen Party Chairman Syed Mustafa Kamal on Monday reiterated his demand, urging the government to implement the 6-point plan to resolve the chronic and lingering issues of Karachi. "PSP's 6-point well-thought-out plan which has already been presented before the government for consideration is the only permanent way out for the socio-economic and administrative issues of the mega city."

Packages and monetary aids will not prove to be a permanent solution of Karachi's plight. Administrative reforms are crucial, and the need of the hour. Accurate census results, increase in seats in National and Provincial Assemblies based on their findings, restoration of Karachi as one district under Mayor, separation of master plan from Sindh Building Control Authority with all powers, launch of PFC Award, devolution of powers from Chief Minister to lower level under the 18th constitutional amendment, taking over the powers of local bodies from other agencies in the city and give them under the mayor's control in compliance with the decision of the Supreme Court are crucial.

Any package without implementation on the aforementioned points is like pouring water into a bucket full of holes, and resources will be lost but goals will not be achieved on a permanent basis. He expressed these views while talking to the representatives of a delegation coming to Pakistan House to join the party from District East.
