6th September Defence day: Message from PERVEZ KHATTAK Federal Minister for Defence

TEXT: The Defence Day of Pakistan is celebrated to pay homage to the sacrifices, courage and valour displayed by our Armed Forces in the War of 1965. As a nation, we have achieved substantial economic progress and self reliance in the field of defence which has enabled us to thwart the nefarious designs of the enemy.

Pakistan is committed to the concept of peaceful co-existence with its neighbours for the social and economic development of a large portion of world population living in South Asia. As a responsible nation, we continue to contribute towards regional and global peace efforts. But our quest for peace and stability should not be construed as weakness, because our valiant Armed Forces are ready and capable to give a befitting reply to any misadventure as displayed on 27th February 2019.

We believe that India has and will fail to suppress the spirit of people of Kashmir who have been subjected to worst human rights violations since partition. The revocation of the special status of Kashmir has been another effort to quash the aspirations of people of Kashmir struggling to achieve the right to self determination under UN Charter. Pakistan has and will continue to support the people of Kashmir on their principled stance.

With the blessings of Allah, continuous support of people of Pakistan and indomitable courage and preparedness of Armed Forces of Pakistan, we will Insh Allah defeat the nefarious and aggressive designs of the enemy.
