Lucky Cement, the largest cement manufacturer in the country has been assessed with a Level Check 'A' in its first ever sustainability report by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
This makes it the only company in Pakistan to receive Level Check A in the year 2010-2011.GRI is a multi-stakeholder, network-based organization which has developed a comprehensive Sustainability Reporting Framework. GRI enjoys strategic partnerships with the United Nations Environment Program, the UN Global Compact, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, International Organization for Standardization and many others. Continuing with the trend of fair and transparent practices, Lucky Cement has reported separately on its sustainability initiatives for the year 2010-2011, being the first time for the company to report independently on sustainability initiatives.
Lucky Cement's Sustainability Report is based on the disclosures on labor management, remuneration and benefits to human resource, improving living standards of the society in general, environment management through reducing carbon footprints and efficient waste management, health and safety, community development, education, stakeholder engagement and impact of these initiatives on companies' financial performance.
Lucky Cement is a Pakistani corporate giant which is spreading its roots across the globe. It has aligned its social and environmental goals with its business goals to yield results that are not only profitable but are also sustainable in the long run.-PR
