The All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) leaders, brushing aside the rumours about participation in so-called 2014 elections in Indian Occupied Kashmir, said that they would contest any elections only after settlement of the Kashmir dispute. According to KMS, Senior APHC leader Professor Abdul Ghani Butt in an interaction with a local daily, maintained that "Kashmir belongs to Kashmiris and history has proved that Kashmiris have never accepted the defeat."
He said time was not far when people living in India would force their government to resolve the Kashmir dispute. "India will have to listen what we are demanding," he said. Professor Butt said that the leaders dreaming for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute "will contest polls only after agreement of the dispute is reached." Another senior APHC leader Shabbir Shah said that all pro-freedom leaders were in a neck-deep debt of the people of Kashmir.
"I personally believe Indian people are wise enough to understand what was the main hurdle in the progress of their nation," he referred to the Kashmir dispute. "I don't think anyone from us will sell the blood of thousands of people by contesting the polls. Even if somebody joins the election fray, he would get exposed," he said.
APHC leader Nayeem Ahmed Khan said that Kashmir was a boiling issue that would continue to boil till it was resolved." He admitted at the personal level he was mobilising people within Kashmir and India making them realise the repercussions of delaying the issue.
