Opposition leader in the National Assembly and PML(N) senior leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that the present rulers have no justification to remain in power as the government has failed on all fronts. He said the people are praying for early departure of the government for every minute of the present government is a burden on the country and the nation.
"Time has come that PML-N and other opposition parties should evolve a joint strategy in and outside the National Assembly and Senate for getting rid of present ruler," he added. He was addressing a press conference at Chief Minister's Secretariat, here on Thursday. Provincial Advisor Raja Ashfaq Sarwar was also present.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said it seems that President Asif Ali Zardari wants to influence the memo case in Supreme Court by giving extension to the president DG ISI. He said clear negligence was shown to intelligence and after allegations against the government by ISI on nuclear and other national issues, there is no justification for his extension and if so happened, PML-N with other opposition parties would decide future strategy.
He said now the issue will not be resolved through compromise (muk muka) and the administrative issue of extension in service of DG ISI can become a political and judicial issue. Nisar said the Foreign Minister's statement that the key with regard to opening of Nato supply is with the National Assembly is not correct.
He warned if any effort was made to use parliament as a rubber stamp on this issue, PML-N will strongly resist it. He lamented that U-turn is being taken after issuing policy statements regarding general elections and other matters from the office of the Prime Minister.
He said the government does not seem serious in the promise of general elections in September or October. The opposition leader criticised the behaviour of People's Party over torture of a woman by Wahida Shah of PPP said the People's Party should itself have taken resignation from Wahida Shah after the video of this tragic incident.
He termed the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner a purely personal desire of President Zardari. He said 28 illegal elections were held during the tenure of the same Chief Election Commissioner upon which National Assembly had to pass constitutional amendment and now he has given verdict in favour of Wahida Shah which is deplorable.
Replying to a question, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that PML-N has given requisition for convening National Assembly session from March 12 for meaningful discussions over recovery of missing persons issue, setting up of 8-member National Assembly Monitoring Committee and submitting a detailed report within two months.
He said the issue of missing persons is very sensitive and a serious human issue which has already been delayed considerably. Replying to another question, he said the present government had a golden chance during the last four years to solve the Balochistan problems but nothing was done. Chaudhry Nisar said he had also declared that Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package was not the solution of Balochistan issue.
